Arthritis is a general term referring to “disease of the joints.”

There are many different types of arthritis, and the medical work-up for arthritis often involves taking a medical history, performing a clinical exam, obtaining X-rays, and ordering other diagnostic testing.

People with arthritis typically experience joint pain, but there may be other associated symptoms depending upon the type of arthritis.
